Photovoltaic backsheet, as a critical protective material for photovoltaic modules, plays a crucial role in the service life of the modules. Years of practice have proven that using fluorine film as a protective film material for the outer layer of the backboard has become the mainstream choice in the market, and PVDF film and PVF film are the main fluorine film materials used. PVDF membrane has good performance and relatively inexpensive raw materials, making it a latecomer.

The transfer film based on PVDF membrane was first introduced by M company in 1985. Compared with traditional nitrocellulose membranes, PVDF membranes have superior performance in protein retention, mechanical strength, and chemical compatibility. Moreover, PVDF membrane is the only choice for protein sequencing. Because PVDF membrane has good chemical resistance and can adapt to "harsh" cleaning conditions, nylon or nitrocellulose membranes will degrade under the same conditions.

In the process of water treatment, PVDF membrane is often used for pre-treatment of sewage, seawater desalination, etc., to remove impurities such as macromolecules, bacteria, and sediment.
At present, the mainstream ultrafiltration products used for large-scale water treatment worldwide are divided into two main materials: PVDF and polyethersulfone (PES). The important advantage of PVDF is that its chemical stability is much better than that of polyether sulfone materials, especially its ability to withstand oxidative cleaning. And oxidant cleaning is the main means to solve organic fouling and blockage of ultrafiltration membranes, so PVDF ultrafiltration membranes are more durable and have a more stable long-term flux.
